We are always happy to hear from people who would like to either share, or build on, their skills, knowledge and experience by volunteering at SAFE. We do not advertise any specific volunteer roles, but are happy to take applications from potential volunteers, and look for a good fit within our organisation. 

 

Volunteers at SAFE do many things, from assisting with premises maintenance to helping with lessons. It is a great way to gain valuable experience in a unique environment.

 

Volunteers are subject to the same stringent suitability checks as employed staff, as the safeguarding of our students is of paramount importance. All volunteers must, therefore, be willing to undergo Criminal Records Bureau checks and barred list checks prior to any volunteering placement being agreed. We will also ask for references – again, these will be taken up before any placement is offered.

 

Volunteers who are offered placements will be subject to the same policies as staff, and will be expected to follow these and the Staff Code of Conduct, and to promote the safeguarding and wellbeing of children and young people at SAFE at all times during their volunteering.
